So, before I launch into the base chakra, what is it like dancing each of the chakras? The following comes from Chakradance.com's Facebook page:
'Dancing the seven chakras is like dancing into seven different inner landscapes, each with its own lessons, meanings and stories. We explore our instincts, sexuality, and power, how we love and communicate, our intuition and our spirituality.'

Well, here I am posting about Chakradancing and yet I'm aware not everyone is aware of what the chakras are.
To put it briefly; Chakras are energy centres in the body.
What? You might ask.
I'll explain it as I do at my workshops: Have you heard of acupressure and acupuncture? These therapies work by applying pressure or needles to the energy which flows through our bodies. Scientists are aware we are energetic beings. In our bodies there are seven main (there are many more) concentrations of energy, the chakras. These are like wheels which are positioned in a line from the base of our spine, the Base Chakra, to the Crown Chakra at the top.
You can see these in the diagram. Each chakra corresponds to a particular colour and resonates to a particular frequency. This is how Chakradance has it's healing effect, as music has been chosen which resonates to the frequency of each chakra.
Over the course of the week I shall focus on each chakra and explain more.
Each month, throughout 2017, I will be posting in more detail about the topic of the month. Let me know if there's anything specific you'd like me to discuss.
